I've been meaning to do this for awhile as a companion to my wife's blog. I was thinking it would provide insight as to how a man and a women handle situations differently and while I should have started earlier, better late then never.
So now the back story I'm currently 29 years old, married to my high school sweat heart. We have 2 kids a boy name Anthony, age 3 and a girl named Ashley age 6 months. All sounds good right? Well lets dig into it a little more. Anthony is a twin and had a sister named Hailey. Hailey passed away at 20 weeks gestation for reasons we still do not know. My wife was then some how able to keep her in for an extra 6 weeks at which time she gave birth. We made a promise to ourselves that we wouldn't look because we didn't want to remember Hailey that way and for better or worse we kept that promise. That said Hailey will always have a special place in my heart. I still to this day tear up when I think about my sweat little girl. I got to see her on ultrasounds but never got to feel her kick but that doesn't mean that I didn't already bond with her. I just wish there was something I could have done to protect her. In the end however she made a sacrifice that saved her brother and for that we will be forever grateful.
With Hailey delivered my wife was ordered to stay in the hospital for observation and to work on keeping Anthony in for as long as possible. Mind you she had already been bed rest for a while now so she would do anything at this point to help Anthony stay in. 4 days later my son, Anthony Matthew decided it was time and he broke his sac and came into this world weighing a whopping 2lbs 3oz. and measuring 14 1/2 inches long.
Anthony was a fighter from the beginning but what followed next was a dizzying 91 days we will never forget.
